A notary’s key role is to ensure that documents which are signed or prepared in England comply with the necessary formalities, so they can be used abroad. This may require verification of the identity, capacity and will of the person signing the document.

I can assist you with a variety of transactions to ensure that your documents are acceptable in foreign countries.
If documents are provided to a notary in a foreign language, a notary must ensure that they and the client understand the meaning and effect of the document. However, notaries do not usually give advice about the meaning or effect of a document or transaction. Your notary may have to insist that it is properly translated into English, or that a qualified interpreter is present at the appointment.
There will be additional fees for these extra services. If you have been given advice or instructions about the document by a foreign lawyer, then please provide this to the notary.
